About
Life as a Junior Doctor is founded by five shenanigans who met through medical school and decided to share their stories through this medical journey.
Having said that, they aim to create awareness amongst the oblivious souls who plan to read medicine with little or no idea of what medicine really is and the challenges that they would face in the future.
Meet the Team
Sharmaine Quake
Hello! Apart from having a regular job, I spend much of my time recreating Malaysian dishes I grew up eating and reading. I recently graduated from Newcastle University Medicine Malaysia where I read Medicine. Being in the healthcare setting reminds me of my transitory presence in this lifetime so I strive to live each day one chocolate at a time.Yolande Lai
Graduated
from Newcastle University Medicine Malaysia; did a fair share of electives in Paeds
Neurology (HSI, Johor), Neurology (James Cook University Hospital,
Middlesbrough), Orthopaedics (Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Gateshead) and Paediatric
Haematology and Oncology (Great North Children Hospital, Newcastle).
Boring
stuff aside, I am extroverted (gradually introverting as I age), bubbly and the
exact opposite of a mundane healthcare worker. Ask me anything on food, shopping
tips, Korean variety shows, travels and medical-related.
